Cabo Yacht Rental FAQ
How much does a yacht rental in Cabo San Lucas cost?
A private yacht rental in Cabo San Lucas with YachtCova starts at $1,550 for 3 hours on the 45 ft Sea Ray, up to 10 guests, and $2,099 for 3 hours on the 65 ft Sea Ray, up to 15 guests. Four hour charters are $1,850 and $2,799. Every rate is for the whole boat and already includes balloon decor, lunch, the open bar, the captain and crew, fuel, snorkel gear and the water toys.
Is balloon decor really included?
Yes, on every charter. Tell us the occasion, the theme and the colors when you book and the crew sets the balloons up on the boat before you board. Most Cabo yacht companies charge extra for decor or leave you to carry it down the dock yourself.
Is the yacht private or shared with other guests?
Every YachtCova charter is fully private. You book the entire boat for your group. We never combine bookings or sell seats on a shared cruise.
How long should we book the yacht for?
Three hours is enough to see El Arco, Lover's Beach and take one swim stop. Four hours is the sweet spot for a relaxed snorkel, lunch on board and more time anchored. Longer charters are available on request.
Can we bring our own food and alcohol?
You do not need to. Lunch and an open bar are already included, and you choose the menu when you book. You are still welcome to bring a cake or anything special, and the crew stocks ice and coolers.
What is the best time of day for a Cabo yacht charter?
Morning departures around 9am give you the calmest water and the best snorkeling visibility. Afternoon and sunset charters give you the light everyone wants for photos. Sunset cruises sell out first in high season, so book those early.
Where do we meet the boat?
All charters leave from the Cabo San Lucas marina, a few minutes on foot from the boardwalk restaurants and the Medano Beach hotels. Your concierge sends an exact dock pin the day before and meets you 15 minutes before departure. Hotel transportation is available from San Jose del Cabo and the Corridor.
Do you take groups for bachelorette parties and birthdays?
Constantly. Bachelorette and birthday charters are what we do most, and balloon decor is included rather than an upsell. Tell us the theme and colors and the boat is decorated before you arrive. Cake, a photographer and extra catering can be added.
Can you help with a marriage proposal on the yacht?
Yes. Balloon decor is included, and we add flowers, champagne, a discreet photographer and a captain who positions the yacht at El Arco at the right moment. We coordinate every detail privately with whoever is planning it.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
If the port closes or the captain judges conditions unsafe, you reschedule at no cost or take a full refund. We watch the forecast for you and reach out first.
Is seasickness a problem in Cabo?
The bay side is usually calm and the trip to the Arch is short and protected. Guests who are sensitive do best on the catamaran or on a morning departure. Bring motion sickness tablets and take them an hour before boarding.
Can we see whales from the yacht?
Humpback and gray whales pass Cabo from roughly mid December through April, and sightings are common on regular charters in that window. The captain will follow the legal viewing distance whenever whales show up.
How far ahead should we book?
Two to four weeks in normal season, and six to eight weeks for Christmas, New Year, spring break and Easter. If you are looking at a date this week, message us anyway. Cancellations open up and we often have same day availability.
